Starting 2022 on a high note, the Kymera Body Board was selected to participate in the fourth Annual #MoMadness Competition. Each year, The Henry Ford’s Innovation Nation hosts this tournament to celebrate the ingenuity of innovators and change-makers that have appeared on their television show. Like basketball and March Madness, #MoMadness includes a “face-off” between each of the innovations in a bracket-style tournament competition. People are able to vote for their favorite inventions in a single elimination showdown format until there is one champion innovator/invention left standing.
Kymera’s first face-off was against the Flare Security Bracelet — smart jewelry that is revolutionizing safety tech. This bracelet is designed to send a discreet notification to friends, family, and first responders when you find yourself in an unsafe situation. The polling was close, but Kymera managed to pull ahead and continue on to the second round.
Next, we went head-to-head against MowRo — an easy-to-use, fully autonomous lawn mower designed to help homeowners cut down on time, energy, and headaches while keeping their yards beautiful. This competition was neck and neck until the very end, but MowRo ultimately came out on top. We weren’t too upset though, we love robots. We also make them! And even though we didn’t make it to the final round, we were honored to be recognized as one of the “elite eight” inventions out of hundreds that have been showcased on the program.
